All of them constitute the roots of Pegasus International. If you are part of the Oil and Gas industry, then it is highly likely that you have interacted with these companies in the past.
The Pegasus name emerged on the engineering scene in July 1999. MPC of Houston merged with ECI of Lafayette, Louisiana. Both companies had worked together on numerous projects over their twenty-year history and the principals recognized early on that their individual capabilities complemented one another.
MPC was a globally renowned engineering company specializing in the marine pipeline industry. As it had grown, it had diversified its talents and was now taking on structural, land pipeline and deepwater umbilical projects. ECI on the other hand, concentrated their engineering talents on process facilities, electrical engineering, automation and controls.
ECI had also enjoyed success in all corners of the globe and, in conjunction with MPC, had provided all of the engineering services for a number of major oil and gas installations.
In July of 1999 the two companies started operating as one and Pegasus International was born.
GER Services of Houston had been providing the onshore pipeline industry with engineering and survey services. Their operation goes back to the mid 80’s when Jack Gibbs (Gibbs Ellison) pioneered work on the 20″ Alaska Pipeline project and the Trans-Ecuadorian pipeline. Gibbs Ellison changed their name in 1997 and was acquired by Pegasus in January of 2000.
Mentor Engineering (MPE) had established a reputation as one of the foremost subsea and pipeline engineering consultants. MPE had completed in excess of 200 projects for more than 60 clients from over 20 countries. As a result of the merger with Pegasus in January 2001, we will continue to provide independent pipeline and subsea engineering and design services to a wide-ranging client base. This merger continues to strengthen the core business of Pegasus International, Inc.
