DRILLING OF THREE (3) APPRAISAL CUM DEVELOPMENT GAS WELLS 2015-2019 

DRILLING OF THREE (3) APPRAISAL CUM DEVELOPMENT GAS WELLS (KTL-9, SYL-9, RP-9 & BKB-10) AND TWO (2) EXPLORATORY WELLS (RP-10 & 12)  AT KAILASHTILLA, SYLHET, RASHIDPUR AND BAKHRABAD  STRUCTURES

The main objective of the project is to enhance gas production by drilling wells on the basis of the result of the recently conducted 3-D seismic survey by BAPEX in order to meet the increasing demand of the country and also to explore/ evaluate the structure of the following fields.

THE KAILASHTILLA GAS FIELD

It is located in Sylhet district, some 300 km from Dhaka. Between the year 1961 and 2007, six (6) nos. wells were drilled. Now, the well KTL-9 shall be directionally drilled.

SYLHET (HARIPUR) GAS FIELD

It is located at Jaintapur Thana in Sylhet District, some 300 km North-east of Dhaka. From 1955, a total of 8 wells were drilled. Now, the well SYL-9 shall be vertically drilled

RASHIDPUR GAS FIELD

It is located at Bahubal Thana in Sylhet District, some 200 km North-east of Dhaka. From 1960, a total of 8 wells were drilled. Now, the wells SRP-9 & RP-10 shall be vertically drilled and RP-12 shall be directionally drilled.

BAKHRABAD GAS FIELD

It is located at Muradnagar Upozilla under Comilla District, some 400 km away east of Dhaka.  From 1969, a total of 9 wells were drilled. The objective of current well BKB-10 is to increase production of gas as well as condensate.
